Presenter – Who has not ever day dreamt? Who has not ever been disappointed? Coming up next you’ll watch Lady Rogue’s story, a daydreamer that having so much fantasy she lost everything she had.
(Enter the narrator and Lady Rogue)
Narrator- Once upon a time there was a woman called Lady Rogue who was poorer than richer. (Lady Rogue comes up). One day, she went to the market holding a jar of honey over her head. On her way to the market, she decided what she would do with the jar of honey.
(Lady Rogue comes to the stage centre).
Lady Rogue- Sigh! Very slowly I’ll sell this jar of honey and I’ll buy a bunch of eggs from which hens will be born, and with the money I get on selling them I’ll buy some pigs..
Narrator - So she went on and on buying with her profits she thought she would get until she thought herself richer than any of her neighbours. And decided that...
With this richness my son and daughter will get well married, so some day I’ll walk along the street with my son in law and daughter in law and people will say on seeing me...
Neighbours - How lucky Lady Rogue has been! How poor she used to be and how rich she has become!
Narrator - While thinking about it she grew happier and started laughing heartily at her good luck.
(Exeunts Lady Rogue laughing)
Narrator - So laughing and laughing she ended up by slapping her forehead in such a way that she dropped the jar of honey to the ground and broke it to pieces.
(Lady Rogue slaps herself and drops the jar)
Narrator - When Lady Rogue saw the broken jar, she started crying her heart out thinking that she had lost everything she had hoped to get selling her honey. And that is, as she had absolutely trusted a false illusion, she got nothing that she had waited for.
Lady Rogue cries her heart out.
