Everyone knows that donkeys are long-suffering, tough and patient. Although you fill their saddlebags till the border , donkeys will put up with the load. Only when they collapse, that is the evidence of the limit of their resistence. Only then, we should recognise that we have exceeded our load. Nevertheless, you just need to lighten their load that you will have donkeys again ready to go on supporting their load. The worst time for a donkey is when they stay in the fields with children. These sometimes hit them with sticks, thow them stones or give the poor donkeys a kick.. At the end, he has to put up with five children riding it and all this suffering is born with endless patience. One day, the angels were talking to the Creator of the Universe like this: Oh Father , don´t you think that donkeys- who are the embodiment of patience- deserve a place in Paradise?. Our Lord agreed and this and ordered to bring donkeys to the doors of Eden. When it was time for a donkey to get at Eden´s door, this one wanted to behave with sense, and just poaking out his snout , he could see that lot´s of children were playing aroung in Paradise. When he saw this, his blood froze in his veins and he couldn´t step into Paradise. The angels tried to convince him firs with soft words and then using the force, but he stayed strong and firm, without wanting to get into Paradise. But, since he lifted his snout into the Divine Light, that is the reason why all donkeys are born with white snouts.
It has a double didactic meaning : donkeys are the creatures of God and they deserve a place in Paradise and children are born pure and innocent and on their death , they go direct to Paradise too.
This tale reminds Bereber people not to treat donkeys with cruelty since this animal is so valuable and useful for bereber daily lifestyle.
